CJ's Funeral

As I previously posted, my CVMA sister, CJ/Jan Berard was diagnosed with cancer this fall.  Her doctors had stated that she could have 6-9 months to live.  I immediately traveled down to Florida to visit her and had a great time.  Unfortunately, 6-9 months ended up being only 6 weeks, and over Thanksgiving Mom and I traveled to Pennsylvania to attend CJs funeral.

As always Murphy raised his head and our trip started out with me replacing the sway bar bracket in the parking lot of a restaurant.  Other than that though the trip went off without a hitch and as much as we could enjoyed our Thanksgiving holiday with amazing friends.

Finishing up repairs.

My CVMA sister, Desert Rose was unable to attend CJs funeral, so she asked me to get a white rose for CJ from Desert Rose.  I tapped into my inner arts and craftsness and made a heart shaped wreath, with CVMA colors and a white rose in CJs honor from Desert Rose.

While in Pennsylvania I had the opportunity to meet the woman who made the Quilt of Valor I received when I was MEDEVACd back from Iraq in 2007.  Cindy is an amazing woman and I was so happy to get the opportunity to meet her!!!

Cindy gave me this beautiful "Thankful" figurine as a Christmas gift and I managed to figure out a way to mount it in a shadow box and display it on my wall.  Cindy was worried I wouldn't be able to enjoy it living in an RV, but I told her not to worry I would figure something out.  I thought it turned out pretty good.
